A few months ago, professional firemen agree to test their current immobilisation technique (with a vacuum mattress) versus ours; here is a sample of some of the conclusions: 

  • With their classical method:

    • You need 5 persons to correctly place the victim onto the mattress.

    • Time needed is fairly long

    • There are a number of steps needed to move the patient around before he can get the X-Rays needed

    • In case the patient vomits, it is not easy to turn the patient on the side

    • Cleaning the mattress is not always easy

  • With our method:

    • 3 persons are needed to immobilise the patient

    • 5 minutes are enough to achieve spinal system immobilisation

    • The patient may stay in the system immobilisation through x-ray unit
