The Freedom Flex Service is a three-year equipment subscription that eliminates the burden of equipment upkeep while ensuring that your organization has the flexibility necessary to maintain a quality simulation program.
Is Freedom Flex Service Right For Me?
The Freedom Flex Service is a three-year subscription on select Laerdal products and services. It might be right for your organization if you:
Need to purchase multiple simulators but prefer to avoid a large capital upfront expenditure.
Believe in having the latest and greatest simulation equipment for your simulation program.
Desire to run a simulation program free from the logistical burdens of equipment maintenance, upkeep, and repair.
How Does Freedom Flex Service Work?
1. Subscription or Purchase
Decide if you would prefer a Freedom Flex contract instead of a capital purchase.
2. Select Eligible Equipment
Select the eligible equipment & complete the sale process. Your subscription will begin when your equipment is installed.
3. Annual Equipment Service
During your contract, Laerdal will service equipment annually and conduct bi-annual impact optimization meetings. Plus, you’ll receive 1, 2 or 3 Two-Hour VILTs to use during your subscription.
4. Simulator Upgrade Request
If during the first 35 months, a new version of a simulator covered under your contract is released, you may request to upgrade the equipment using your one-per-term upgrade option. Doing so will extend your subscription by 3 years.
5. Subscription Renewal
Toward the end of your three-year contract, we will discuss renewing your Freedom Flex Service subscription.

Installation of New and Upgraded Equipment
Professionally trained Service Engineers will visit your facility to properly set up your simulators and prepare you with the baseline knowledge needed to effectively operate it.
Annual Periodic Maintenance
Like real patients, patient simulators need wellness checkups too. Annual periodic maintenance service includes extensive assessment, testing, and replacement of components to ensure your products maintain peak performance levels. A Laerdal Field Service Engineer will visit your site once per year. Included is:
- Laerdal software upgrades to the latest version
- Simulator software updates
- Product cleaning
- Final test and inspection of the simulator
- Documentation of findings and further recommendations
Replacement Equipment
With Freedom Flex, we aim to ensure your simulation training experiences minimal disruption If your simulator needs repair due to normal use (not misuse or forced repair), Laerdal will send you a replacement simulator.
1, 2, or 3 Two-Hour Virtual Instructor Led Trainings (VILTs)
Based on your total subscription value, you will receive 1, 2 or 3 Two-Hour Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) to use during your three-year subscription. This is to ensure you are utilizing your Laerdal equipment to its fullest potential or to use for continued professional development of your staff.
Bi-Annual Impact Optimization Meetings
Enjoy bi-annual product utilization optimization discussions with your Customer Success Specialist. They can discuss potential upgrade options, future equipment needs, maintenance or repair needs, and help you select a course to schedule the selected education.
Opportunity to Upgrade Equipment Upon New Product Launch
Always have the latest and greatest simulation equipment by enjoying the Freedom Flex option to upgrade to the latest equipment upon new version release within the first 35 months of the contract.
*Included in this service is one (1) upgrade for applicable simulators per contract. Equipment must be onsite for 9 months to be eligible for upgrade All upgrades will extend the contract by 3 years.
