Various wounds can be added to female patient care manikins for realism in wound assessment and patient care scenarios. The Female Wound Care and Assessment Set includes:

Abdominal Surgical Incision Module

• Vertical incision with simulated surgical closure (painted sutures)
• Suitable for teaching suture care and dressing
• May be interchanged with manikin's abdominal module

Abdominal Surgical Incision Module with Staples and Penrose Drain

• Vertical incision with staples
• Penrose drain simulated
• Suitable for teaching suture care and dressing

• Wound separation exposing a layer of subcutaneous fat
• Suitable for wet or dry packing and wound irrigation
• May be interchanged with manikin's abdominal module

Abdominal Subcutaneous Heparin and Insulin Injection module

• Simulated injections
• May be interchanged with manikin's abdominal module

Infected Colostomy Stoma

• May be interchanged with plugs on surgical abdominal plate
• May be irrigated and will retain indwelling catheter

Ventral Gluteal Decubitus Ulcer

• Reddish and cyanotic blue-greay appearance
• Break in the skin exposing soft tissue
• May be interchanged with manikin's ventral gluteal injection pad 

Dorsal Gluteal Decubitus Ulcer

• Reddish and cyanotic blue-greay appearance
• Break in the skin exposing soft tissue
• May be interchanged with manikin's dorsal gluteal injection pad 

Below Knee Amputation Stump

• Suitable for training stump care including wrapping
• May be articulated to manikin

Thigh Packing and Irrigation Module

• Wound separation exposing a layer of subcutaneous fat
• Suitable for wet or dry packing and wound irrigation
• May be interchanged with manikin's thigh injection pad

Thigh Suture Module

• Closure made with nylon sutures
• Suitable for teaching suture care and dressing
• May be interchanged with manikin's thigh injection pad

Thigh Debridement Module

• Facilitates mechanical debridement
• Devitalized tissue can be removed and reattached with glue
• May be interchanged with manikin's thigh injection pad

Varicose Vein Leg

• Varicose veins
• Stasis ulcer
• Right lower leg may be articulated to manikin at the knee

Diabetic Foot

• Gangrenous toes
• Decubitus ulcer on heel
• Right foot may be articulated to manikin at the ankle

 

Please note:

• When using the abominal wound modules with a SimPad capable manikin, you will not have bowel sound auscultation capabilities. 
• These modules may also be used with Nursing Kelly manikins, with the exception of the ventral and dorsal gluteal decubitus ulcers.
