September 17-21 marks Healthcare Simulation Week. This week is core to Laerdal’s mission of helping save lives. It is an opportunity for all in the simulation community to rededicate ourselves to the cause of using simulation to help providers achieve peak lifesaving performance.
Sponsored by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, this year’s Healthcare Simulation Week celebrates the professionals who improve the safety, effectiveness and quality of healthcare services every day. There are great leaders across academe, hospitals, EMS, and the military, all of whom are driving the use of simulation to improve outcomes. We thank you for your achievements!
As a tribute to all working in simulation, we're sharing these three stories that show how simulation-based training can help save lives. The common thread between each story is that the providers faced significant odds against success. But, rather than look at their circumstances as impossible, they drew on their simulation training to take the lead and say, “I’m Possible.”
Do you have a story where someone used their simulation training to turn an impossible situation into an “I’m Possible” one? After you’ve read the stories below, we hope that you’ll share yours.
