The Neonatal Resuscitation Program® (NRP®) course conveys an evidence-based approach to care of the newborn at birth and facilitates effective team-based care for healthcare professionals who care for newborns at the time of delivery. This course content delivers the necessary curricula to become an NRP Instructor. This is the initial course for a provider to obtain NRP instructor status.
Learning Objectives
- State how neonatal resuscitation guidelines originate and how they become NRP educational materials.
- Describe the two NRP provider categories (NRP Essentials and Advanced) and compare the two learning methodologies (instructor-led courses and RQI for NRP).
- Demonstrate understanding of the sequence of the NRP 8th edition algorithm.
- Outline the requirements of an instructor led NRP Provider course that uses the Sequential Practice and Evaluation format and the Comprehensive Testing format and describe the two recommended classroom set-ups: Learning Station and Skills Station.
- List essential skills of the NRP instructor and resources for continued learning.
Co-teach 3 Instructor-led events with guidance and supervision from an instructor mentor
