Pre-Conference Workshop

D3: Do it – Debrief it – Dissect it

In this 4 hour pre-con session, learners will observe an EMS simulation activity and debriefing of the participants. The faculty will then take the audience through the dissection to discover and reveal the design to execution process of the event. This session is ideal for learners who want to understand more about evidence-based simulation practice and ways to improve simulation activities to yield better outcomes. If you’ve always wanted to see how it’s done with behind the scene access, this session is for you. Participants will leave with a better understanding of the steps to take for designing a better simulation activity that yields better outcomes.

The JEMS Games Clincal Competition

The JEMS Games is a challenging and educational clinical competition highlighting cutting-edge simulation technology. The preliminary competition challenges teams to appropriately assess and provide quality, efficient patient care during three realistic, high-pressure scenarios. The top three teams move on to the final competition, a 20-minute high-energy scenario that requires managing multiple patients. An awards ceremony immediately follows where we award 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals.
